Columbus Charter School Student Wins Second Place in State Archery Tournament

Samuel Lane, an eighth-grade student at Columbus Charter School, won second place amongst all middle school boys in the 2020 North Carolina NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) Tournament. He competed against a field of well over 100 students from North Carolina. Samuel will compete in the 2020 NASP Eastern National Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky in May.

Samuel commented, “I am excited to place so high and go to Kentucky for nationals! I want to thank my teammates and our Headmaster, Mr. Smith. I couldn’t do it without them. I’ve been at Columbus Charter School since kindergarten and am grateful for how much it has helped me grow!”

Columbus Charter School is one of four charter schools managed by The Roger Bacon Academy, Inc. founded in 1999 by education pioneer Baker Mitchell.
