Columbus Charter School Hits Fundraising Goal in Boosterathon!

Columbus Charter School students worked hard to reach the $8,000 fundraising goal in this year’s Boosterathon! The money will purchase new chrome books to continue the school’s academic excellence. Columbus Charter School consistently ranks as the top school in Columbus County.

Headmaster Steve Smith commented, “We are so proud of the hard work and school spirit our students demonstrate daily. We give our students high expectations and they meet them.”

Columbus Charter School is one of four public charter schools managed by The Roger Bacon Academy, Inc. founded in 1999 by education pioneer Baker Mitchell. The other schools include Charter Day School in Leland, Douglass Academy in Wilmington, and South Brunswick Charter School in Southport with a combined enrollment of over 2,100 students in K-8. All four are tuition-free, charter schools that welcome all students, regardless of income, ability, or address. To learn more or enroll online, please visit
